Community Project Fundraise Overview

FSD community project fundraising program is designed to provide support to our grassroots organizations to leverage resources to augment available community local resources for effective project implementation. Often time’s community groups always have different project ideas from the identified community challenges associated to poverty. Based on the scope of their projects, in most cases these communities are limited by financial capital to finance and mobilize the available assets and resources so as to realize their project goals.  Among the obligations of FSD, is to empower these communities on how to secure enough capital and resources by taking advantage of the local assets and any other assistance they can get from the external organizations or the funding community in support of the project’s cause. We engage our grassroots partner organizations in acquiring necessary fundraising skills through organizing fundraising training workshops and fundraising drives. The objective is to build and strengthen community skills of identifying and accessing project funding sources and to be accountable.

We also train applicants who apply on our volunteering/internship program the skill of project fundraising through organizing grant proposal writing training workshops. Having the knowledge grant proposal writing helps them to source funding for their community project activities which they are actively engaged in. It also helps them learn and acquire grant design, fundraising and grant mangement skills. We encourage our applicants take advantage of networks both local and international group of friends, organizations plus any other funding community groups to seek fundraising support for their project work. Grant proposal writing, project fundraising and grant management are among the skills we desire students or professionals to acquire in pursue of their international development stint.

The grant funds acquired by FSD will be responsible for funding sustainable project initiatives designed by our grassroots partner organizations and their interns or volunteers. Ranging in size and scope, projects are only funded when communities actively participate in the planning, execution, and maintenance of the work. We take responsibility of following up grant fund related sustainable project initiatives. This is to ensure that the funding support received is properly utilized and accounted for, to reach the desired project goal and objectives in addressing community needs.
