Being part of the FSD Jinja Virtual Internship Program is a unique opportunity that I got to experience as an undergraduate student. Prior to registering for the program I aimed to apply for a local internship to increase my workplace experience, however, given the opportunity to participate and be part of an international internship program introduced a different experience. Especially, as a virtual international internship, I have high expectations and enthusiasm to be part of. I knew that being a part of this program, even on the virtual ground will provide me with an insightful mindset of different communities and how to work in community development. Personally, I developed a connection while interning at my host-organization. I am a passionate advocate for women and women's rights, and being part of an organization, a program that supports them is what I would like to spend learning and developing doing. This left an impact on both my personal and professional life on how such an experience can develop one’s mindset in looking for and after other communities which is something I believe I will always hold on to.
